Working on this series has been SUCH an eye opener. I find myself thinking about aspects of it every time some terrible violent act is talked about. It reframes the way you think about things, and of course, that's exactly what a @BBCRadio4#Reith lecture is designed to do.
"It's a mistake to think that people who kill are not human."
Titled Four Questions about Violence, This year’s BBC Radio 4 Reith Lecturer Dr Gwen Adshead addresses the most pertinent questions that she has faced in her work as a forensic psychiatrist.
The lectures were recorded in front of live audiences in London, Dundee, Bergen and HMP Grendon - the first time a Reith lecture has been recorded in a prison.

A pleasure to work on this most thoughtful series. HMP Grendon prisoners asking questions about violence, and considering it in relation to their own offences.
Recorded inside HMP Grendon, forensic psychiatrist Dr Gwen Adshead continues her Reith Lectures series.
Talking to prisoners and staff, she asks: does trauma cause violence?

Just fabulous to hear about children getting new experiences with @YHAOfficial These kids have been getting their first chance to build a den, paint a picture of a hill, even do some hostel gardening. Really simple stuff that many take for granted.

@easyJet the 1230 Amsterdam to Manchester flight still hasn’t left. Now 8 hours delayed. One 4.50 euro voucher offered between two teens, who were treated with disdain when asking for information. Who do we contact please?
