🔊 Powerful Message from the UN Special Rapporteur on the Situation in Myanmar 🔊

The situation in Myanmar is critical, and the lives of innocent children are at stake. We cannot remain silent while they suffer. Please take a few moments to listen to this crucial update and join us in taking decisive actions to protect their future.

Since the attempted coup on February 1, 2021, the genocidal military junta has caused unimaginable harm to the children of Myanmar. Over 800 innocent lives have been lost, more than 380 children are unjustly imprisoned, and 51 children are held hostage to pressure their parents. Additionally, over 660,000 children have been displaced, 5.8 million are in desperate need of lifesaving aid, and dozens of millions of Myanmar’s children are deprived of their right to education. These unspeakable crises demand concrete actions from the international community.

💰 MONEY: We must cut off the flow of international financing to the genocidal military junta. Join the United States in sanctioning Myanmar's financial institutions and the European Union in sanctioning MOGE, a key source of their income.

💥 WEAPONS: Disrupt the flow of international arms into the hands of the junta. We must disable their weapon factories and dismantle their bomb-making facilities to prevent further loss of innocent lives.

🚫 LEGITIMACY: Deny the junta's claim to power and cut off all diplomatic engagements. They cannot represent the people of Myanmar while committing crimes against humanity. Hold them accountable for their actions.

The people of Myanmar need urgent assistance in restoring democracy, peace, and stability. We urge:

🔒 SANCTIONS: Impose coordinated, stronger, and targeted sanctions against the military junta. Join the United States in sanctioning their financial institutions and the European Union in implementing an arms embargo.

🤝 RECOGNITION: Officially recognize the National Unity Government (NUG) as the legitimate democratic representative of Myanmar.

🤲 SUPPORT: Immediate and effective implementation of the ASEAN five points (2021) on Myanmar, UN Security Council Resolution No. 2669 (2022) on Myanmar, and the US NDAA Burma Act (2023). Support the people of Myanmar in their courageous struggle against the genocidal military dictatorship. Stand with us in our pursuit of federal democratization, which is the only path to freedom, peace, prosperity, and stability not only for Myanmar but for the entire region.

For 27 long months, the people of Myanmar have endured unimaginable suffering. Their fight for freedom and democracy is unwavering. Let us unite against these grave violations, working towards a future where they can live in peace, dignity, and freedom.

Together, we can make a difference and bring hope to the people of Myanmar. They deserve a brighter and more just future. 🌍🕊️

Military owned channel MRTV announced that 23 protesters were SENTENCED TO DEATH with penal code 396. We live in a country where rapists aren't charged with death penalty yet, PROTESTING FOR DEMOCRACY is charged with DEATH PENALTY.
