I want to thank the more than 180,000 Georgians who believed in me and this campaign enough to earn their vote.

Whether you volunteered, spread the word, or donated, I owe you a debt of gratitude and hope I’ve made you proud. We came just 2 points short of making the runoff, but the people have spoken and I respect their decision.

These races are about choosing our strongest nominee, not complaining when our preferred candidate doesn't make it. I’ve always believed it’s important not to sit on the sidelines when you know the candidates in your race well.

That’s why I am formally endorsing Deandre Mathis for Insurance Commissioner.

It’s critical that Democrats nominate the strongest possible candidate, and I believe that person is Deandre Mathis.

I’m asking everyone who supported me to come back out and vote by Tuesday, June 16th — for Deandre Mathis and for Democrats up and down the ballot in statewide and local races.
