Happy #InternationalCatDay! Featured here are some profiles of international cats from our copy of Cats of the Wild - Great and Small, written and illustrated by Larry Harris and published by the Ward Ritchie Press in 1971.

Last Saturday, the Clark Library hosted “Regency Fun and Fanfare: A Workshop on Jane Austen and the Art of the Conversation Fan.” Led by Dr. Leigh-Michil George, attendees looked at fans and game-related items from the Regency period, as well as a Jane Austen novel.

About 80 middle schoolers from @dodsonmiddle@LAschoolsSouth visited! Sessions included hands-on activities with materials related to Shakespeare and his contemporaries and print/book history, as well as outdoor acting of scenes from Romeo and Juliet and a book-making exercise.

The @uclalawlibrary joined us yesterday for a tour of the library & the grounds! Also on view were some legal-adjacent items: a 1676 pamphlet about two servants convicted of murder & a 2011 artist book dealing with Japanese pension fraud.
Viewed some interesting literary items last week during a visit from UCLA’s English honors society, Sigma Tau Delta (@SigTauUCLA), which included a forged Shakespeare signature, an Oscar Wilde typescript, & more!
