@EverAutistic I empathise. My emotions seem to change on a daily basis and the unpredictability can be overwhelming. Knowing that others understand makes it a little easier to cope with. Hereβs to a newfound and awesome identity ππΌ
@EverAutistic Congratulations! I am only two months ahead of you on the post-diagnostic journey and learning about myself all the time. The support from the autistic community on Twitter is incredible.
@MxOolong@autscape I didnβt know about @autscape; it looks fantastic! Thatβs my next goal: having the opportunity (and courage!) to meet other autistic people in person.
At the beginning of this year, I had no idea that I was autistic. Last weekend I received my official diagnosis. Itβs taken over four decades to find out but my overriding feeling is that itβs better late than never!

@LUC_autism Iβm sorry to hear this - it can be such a difficult process. I sought a private diagnosis as I know the NHS waiting list is very long. I wonder if @AutisticGirls_ can help?
@JaxD50 Sheβs 10. Like me, I wouldnβt have had a clue but now we know about autism my (NT) husband and I see so many traits. I used to be impatient with her but now I know why she finds certain things difficult. We havenβt sought a diagnosis for her yet but I wouldnβt rule it out.
@LeadingSpecial I just thought I was an inept human being. The funny thing is that Iβd worked with autistic teens for many years and found we communicated really well - but still I had no clue!
@Hayleymalayley The mix of emotions is intense and it can be gruelling but I do think having the official diagnosis is a positive step, and I really hope you find that too. Good luck!
@Ben32074@mightbeautistic Absolutely. It is validating to know for sure why. I was diagnosed with anxiety many years ago. I am anxious but thatβs the understandable result of decades of masking!
