RITE FOODS, JAMB TO HONOUR SEVEN OUTSTANDING UNDERGRADUATES EACH WITH ₦5 MILLION ACADEMIC EXCELLENCE AWARDS IN LAGOS
The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB), in partnership with Rite Foods Limited, will on Tuesday, 30 June 2026, host the Maiden Academic Excellence Recognition Award Ceremony in Lagos to celebrate seven exceptional Nigerian students who distinguished themselves through outstanding academic performance during the 2025 admission exercise.
The initiative, sponsored by Rite Foods Limited, underscores the shared commitment of both organisations to promoting academic excellence, rewarding merit and inspiring young Nigerians to pursue educational achievement.
At the ceremony, each of the seven award recipients will receive ₦5 million in recognition of their exceptional performance in both the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) and the respective Post-UTME or institutional screening exercises conducted by their admitting Universities.
The seven awardees emerged through a rigorous, transparent and merit-based selection process coordinated by JAMB. Six winners represent the six geopolitical zones of the country, while the seventh award recognises the highest-performing admitted candidate living with a disability.
The institutions winning candidates are:
1) University of Lagos (South-West Zonal Winner)
2) University of Uyo (South-South Zonal Winner)
3) Federal University of Technology, Owerri (South-East Zonal Winner)
4) Federal University of Applied Sciences, Kachia (North-West Zonal Winner)
5) University of Maiduguri (North-East Zonal Winner)
6) Federal University of Technology, Minna (North-Central Zonal Winner); and the
the recipient of the award for Candidate Living with Disability also came from the
7) University of Lagos.
The University of Lagos stands out as the only institution producing two award recipients at this maiden edition.
The ceremony is expected to attract over 300 distinguished guests from across Nigeria's education sector, government, academia and the corporate community.
Expected dignitaries include the Honourable Minister of Education, the Registrar of JAMB, Prof. Is-haq Oloyede, Vice Chancellors of the award-winning candidates’ universities, Vice Chancellors of universities in Lagos State, Executive Secretaries and Chief Executives of key regulatory agencies including the National Universities Commission (NUC), the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE), the National Commission for Colleges of Education (NCCE), as well as principal officers of tertiary institutions, education stakeholders, development partners, corporate leaders, students and members of the media.

Original UTME Result Slip Ready for Printing in Two Hours
Dear Candidates and Stakeholders,
The 2026 UTME Original Result Slip will be available for printing within the next two hours today, Wednesday, 17th June,2026.
The Original Result Slip contains the candidate’s photograph, national ranking, and other security features. It is part of the official document required for post-UTME processing and consideration by tertiary institutions.
Candidates can conveniently print their Original Result Slip from any internet-enabled device, whether at home, in the office, or at accredited business centres.
Candidates are advised to verify all details on the slip immediately after printing and keep a copy for future admission-related purposes.

JAMB GETS NEW REGISTRAR
A new Registrar has been appointed for the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) as Prof. Is-haq Oloyede bows out on 31st July, 2026.
Prof. Segun Aina, a renowned Computer Engineering expert with vast experience in data-driven institutional processes, will assume office on 1st August, 2026.
He was actively involved in the early stages of the introduction of the Computer-Based Test (CBT) system in the Board.
Prof. Aina is not new to the operational ecosystem of the Board, having played a key role during the formative stage of the CBT regime, which has transformed the conduct of examinations in Nigeria.
Over the years, the Board has been fortunate to have Registrars with world-class experience whose leadership has continued to move the organisation from strength to strength.
The Management and staff of the Board congratulate Prof. Aina and look forward to receiving him as he assumes duty.

UTME CHANGE OF INSTITUTION PROCESS ACTIVATED
Candidates wishing to change their institution or programme of choice may now proceed to do so visiting any of the Board’s approved CBT.
Applicants are advised to visit any accredited CBT centre to effect the changes.
NEWS: JAMB says it will begin an option for candidates to bring their own computer for the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) from 2027.
The Heads of Tertiary Institutions in Nigeria had unanimously agreed that the Minimum Admissible Scores for admissions into Universities should be 150, Colleges of Nursing, 150, and Polytechnics, 100.

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB)has concluded arrangements to hold the 2026 Policy Meeting on Admissions scheduled for 11th May, 2026, at the Body of Benchers, Auditorium, located at Plot 688, Institute and Research District, FCC Phase III, Jabi, Abuja.
The 2026 Policy Meeting promises to be exciting as key policy direction will be unveiled by the Honourable Minister of Education, Dr. Maruf Olatunji Alausa.
The Board's annual policy meeting on admissions is a crucial annual gathering where stakeholders decide minimum tolerable UTME marks, admission guidelines, and policies for tertiary institutions.
Furthermore, the meeting is expected to, in particular, formally sets the tone for the 2026/2027 admission exercise while impressing it on attendees the need to adhere strictly to stipulated guidelines.
Attendees at the 2026 meeting would include critical stakeholders such as Vice-Chancellors, Rectors, Provosts, Registrars and their admission officers.
Others are regulatory bodies ranging from the National Universities Commission(NUC), National Commission for Colleges of Education(NCCE), to the National Board for Technical Education(NBTE), among others.
Goodwill messages will also be taken from NELFUND, NYSC, and other critical stakeholders.
Also slated to hold is the 6th Edition of the National Tertiary Admissions Performance-Merit Awards (NATAP-M), which has ensure strict adherence to admission guidelines and also contributed greatly to the development of tertiary education in the country.

JAMB Releases Results of 632,788 Candidates from Day One of the 2026 UTME
The results of candidates who sat the 2026 UTME on Thursday, 16 April 2026, have been released and are now available for viewing.
To check their results, candidates should send UTMERESULT via SMS to 55019 or 66019, using the same phone number (SIM) used during registration.
At this stage, candidates may view their results only; printing is not yet available.
Candidates are strongly cautioned against manipulating the SMS received from the official platform (55019/66019) to fabricate or alter scores with the intent to mislead others, including parents. Such actions constitute a serious criminal offence. The Board treats such misconduct with the utmost gravity. Currently, two candidates and one parent are in custody for engaging in result falsification using AI and other electronic means. Any candidate found culpable will face the full consequences of the law.
The examination is ongoing, and results will continue to be released as they become available.
