@QueenOfAsgard_ No idea what your budget is but if you want one which will genuinely last you for life, Le Creuset Cast Iron Oval Casserole Dish is what you want, even though I'm aware it is also the meme middle class answer. Unfortunately one of those cases where it really is worth it
It is no exaggeration to say that there will be blood on the hands of the Labour party over this. We already know the NHS has blood on its hands for closing off new prescriptions after the (now overturned) Bell v Tavistock. Closing off private routes too is just unnecessary evil
π¨ BREAKING: Health Secretary Wes Streeting has said he intends to ban puberty blockers for trans children.
Jo Maugham, Director of the Good Law Project, reported today that "subject to the outcome of the court proceedings and consultation" Streeting will ban puberty blockers.
Making up for the lack of films I've seen this month (my brother's wedding being a main factor so I don't feel too bad) by having just booked two different double features for next month
I also need to see "I Saw The TV Glow" when that gets its UK release next month
@itslittlemy I remember I had an essay due the next day which I hadn't written and so I just stayed up the whole night writing it whilst the results trickled in and I was like "surely the exit polls can be just wrong enough" and just like, slowly losing the will to live
Shockingly enough I've actually kept up with my reading goals so far this year, which was partly helped by the fact that my February book was Welcome to Dorley Hall by Alyson Greaves and I went so insane over it I have now read up to the most recently released chapter of Book 3
Follow up: In my hubris and folly this has immediately collapsed as I have barely read the one chapter of What We Owe To Each Other that was meant to be March's book
Given NHS England's awful decision to remove access to puberty suppressing hormones, I would like to reshare my favourite article on the topic, which breaks down some key myths about this treatment: https://t.co/RPdbaElC9X
What did James Macavoy literally say about the difference between state and private schools and the failure of government when it comes to exposing children to the arts in order to keep children on the assembly line
Was looking back through old tweets for something else and:
:)
Time to go follow up with my GP about where I am on the waiting list again (if I haven't been moved off it somehow when I moved GPs)
Truly trans healthcare is just so instantly accessible to everyone
Love to see data that the waiting list I know I'm sat on has a 7+ year waiting list and that if I'm to continue waiting for healthcare in the NHS it'll probably be another 3-4 years at minimum based on when I went on the waiting list
I'll be fine, and the stuff is heading towards working out, but I still have to cross the rest of the space between here and where it having worked out is, but I'm going into this year more mentally stable and with a more positive outlook and less burned out. We take those
NYE the last couple of years has always felt bitter sweet, having my SSD failing and ending up losing some of my stuff from the last couple of years because of failed backups feels like an appropriate end to this year, as I continue to try and work out exactly what I'm doing now
