Asking why...it's my new classroom management strategy because I WANT to understand why. For example, "Why do you think it's okay to make fun of a student asking a question?" My favorite: "Why do you think it is okay to prevent another student's success by distracting them?" WHY.

I helped a family member create, complete, AND reflect on his resume. We also discussed his previous employment experience to help him establish goals. All that in less than 40 minutes! Whew! If only I could get my students to do the same...daily.
All my career I have only attended our high school's graduation. Today, I am attending our #CommunityCollege graduation of one of my #formerstudents and, as a teacher, it's empowering. #VVCRam Great job! @VVCFoundation
@shannonmmiller Our Honors Teacher did this in her classroom, and it was a success! For the library, you can host a buffet and let classes come on in. Separate stations by genres. Or, set-up a picnic area and students can choose.
