“Trust in the Lord forever, for in Yah, the Lord, is everlasting strength.” (Isaiah 26:4)

Chapter 26 begins with “In that day,” which, in chapter 25:8, says that it is a time when death is destroyed, tears are dried, shame is removed, and every promise is secured by God’s word. And later in Isaiah 26:3, it says that God will keep them in perfect peace whose trust is in Him; that is, it will be a time when His people will not only have the peace of God but also peace with Him.

Therefore, with this assurance, we can place our trust wholly and securely in the Lord God, ‘Yah-weh,’ because it is in God, ‘Yah,’ that we can stand firm, as ‘Yah-weh’ is our eternal Rock, or our ‘Rock of Ages.’ (The word ‘strength’ in the Hebrew is the word for ‘rock’)

To ensure we know that we can securely place our trust in Him and in Him alone, He repeats His holy name, emphasizing that He alone is God, that there is no other God but Him, and that He will faithfully keep His covenantal promises to His people.

Theologian and author of multiple commentaries, Albert Barnes, said, “The union of these two forms seems designed to express, in the highest sense possible, the majesty, glory, and holiness of God; to excite the highest possible reverence where language fails of completely conveying the idea.”

Therefore, let’s keep trusting in the Lord God, for He is strong, unshakable, and eternal. He is the Rock of our Salvation, the Rock of Ages.

What our elected officials must understand is the American people demand some sort of election integrity going into the midterm elections.
