Le 07 septembre de chaque année le monde célèbre la journée internationale de l'air pur, le Groupe de recherche de l'@UB_Rumuri#Clean_air_Research_Group s'est joint au monde pour plaider en faveur de la pollution accélérée de l'air.
D'après les statistiques de l'#OMS,7/10 des personnes respirent de l'#air impropre ;ce qui cause certaines maladies respiratoires. Il est urgent de prendre des décisions qui limitent la pollution de l'air.Propos de Dr Salomon Mugisha,Prés. de Clean Air Research Group.

#Burundi/Pr le chef du club de recherche scientifique S. MUGISHA, en plus de la sensibilisation, on peut limiter la pollution de l'air par chngmnt de mentalité en adoptant le système de déplcmnt à pied, à défaut du bus en commun ainsi k le refus d'acheter des véhicules d'occasion

#Burundi:Dr. #Salomon_MUGISHA a indiqué que parmi les sources des polluants de l'air figurent les véhicules,les industries,les feux de brousse et les manières de vivre que ça soit à Bujumbura ou à l'intérieur où on trouve des cuisines qui sont à l'intérieur de la Maison.
Selon #Salomon_MUGISHA Président du grpe de la recherche scientifique,vaut mieux respirer de l'air propre,il explique que les gens ne savent pas le danger d respirer l'air impropre,il indique que respirer l'air impropre est l'un parmi les causes des décès au #Burundi et au Monde.

It was great sharing the data strategies by Breathe Cities to combat air pollution and protect public health across different cities under the initiative.

The Clean Air Forum Lagos 2024 has entered its second day at Sheraton Hotel, Ikeja, with Dr. Babatunde Ajayi, General Manager of LASEPA with senior management staff of the agency in attendance.
The 5- event, organized by AirQo, Makerere University; AQMRG, University of Lagos, and LASEPA has brought together a diverse group of over 300 air quality stakeholders from 40 cities across 40 countries to tackle the pressing issue of air pollution in Africa.
As the forum progresses, academia and policymakers have taken the stage to deliver presentations, highlighting innovative solutions to combat air pollution in Africa. The presentations have covered a range of topics, including the use of technology in air quality management, sustainable transportation solutions, and community-led initiatives to reduce air pollution.
One key focus emerging from the presentations is the importance of leveraging technology to address air pollution. Several speakers have highlighted the potentials of technologies such as sensor networks, data analytics, and artificial intelligence to monitor and manage air quality in real-time. For example, one presentation showcased a low-cost sensor network developed by a local University that can provide real-time air quality data to citizens.
Another focus that has emerged is the need for sustainable transportation solutions. Several speakers have emphasized the importance of promoting cleaner fuels, improving public transportation. One presentation highlighted a successful pilot project that introduced electric buses,CNG buses into a city's public transportation system, resulting in significant reductions in air pollution.
The Clean Air Forum Lagos 2024 has entered its third day at Sheraton Hotel, Ikeja, yesterday with a urgent call to action from experts to leverage technology and collaboration to combat air pollution in Africa.
The Hon Commissioner for Health, Professor Akin Abayomi said we must work together to address the pressing issue of air pollution in Africa. He noted that leveraging technology and collaboration, we can reduce air pollution and improve the health and well-being of our citizens."
The General Manager LASEPA,Dr Babatunde Ajayi said the Clean Air Forum Lagos 2024 is a crucial step towards addressing air pollution in Africa
He noted we must continue to work together to find solutions to this complex issue. LASEPA is committed to promoting clean air initiatives in Lagos State, and we look forward to collaborating with stakeholders to achieve this goal.
Dr Rose Alani, lead Air Quality Monitoring Research Group (AQMRG) at the University of Lagos commended LASEPA's support and collaboration, "LASEPA has been great, the data we turned out were made possible by LASEPA".
She noted that access to real-time air quality data and ongoing research is crucial in developing effective strategies to mitigate the impact of air pollution.
The Clean Air Forum Lagos 2024 will come to close on July 12, 2024, with a communiqué outlining the solutions and policy frameworks developed by participants.
