I attended the State Internal Revenue Service/MDAs Collaborative and Performance Review Meeting today to reinforce the importance of strategic revenue mobilisation across Ministries, Departments, Agencies (MDAs), and Local Government Councils.

I have always stressed at different fora that a financially strong state is key to sustainable development, and achieving this requires all stakeholders working together to increase revenue efficiency and block leakages.

I commend the Ekiti State Internal Revenue Service (EKIRS) for the significant improvements recorded in revenue collection and urge all MDAs to play active roles in tax compliance and financial discipline.
