This was posted by @gfulkerson35 (beat me to it…I had to score a game tonight so I’m just getting home), but it’s pretty clear in the rules. This is hard for Cubs fans who want PCA to be safe, but this is an easy out call for replay one he comes off the base. It just is.
Again, the big thing for me is… not a caught stealing.

Also, from that same rule, how can someone slide past the base without touching it? How is sliding past the base determined

Aren’t you out every time you touch the base then come off and are tagged? If your interpretation is correct then they should just get rid of this in the rule book. The fact that its in there makes me believe it has a diff interpretation
