🇬🇧 🇫🇷 At the British Museum, The King and Queen have been joined by The President of France, Emmanuel Macron and Mrs Brigitte Macron, Prime Minister Andy Burnham and Ms Marie-France Van-Heel, to view the Bayeux Tapestry Exhibition.

Following a historic agreement between the United Kingdom and France, the Bayeux Tapestry has been loaned by France to the UK for the first time since it was made nearly 1,000 years ago. The Bayeux Tapestry depicts the events leading up to the Norman Conquest of England in 1066.

Curators showed Their Majesties key scenes from the tapestry before joining those involved in the loan in the Museum's Great Court.

Her songs will continue to resonate with people of all ages, and her philanthropic work will have a lasting impact.

During a visit to Ashdown Forst, The Queen met staff, volunteers and local school children at ‘The Enchanted Place’, the spot where Christopher Robin said goodbye to Pooh at the end of ‘The House at Pooh Corner’.

Between 1925 and 1940, author A. A. Milne lived near Ashdown Forest with his son, Christopher Robin, which provided the inspiration for the 100 Acre Wood.

Marking 100 years since the publication of the first Winnie-the-Pooh book in 1926, Her Majesty today unveiled an all-weather trail named ‘Queen’s Walk’ that will enable easier access to the forest for future generations.

At Arlington National Cemetery, The King and Queen pay tribute to the Fallen at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier.

Covering more than 600 acres, Arlington is interred with more than 400,000 veterans and their family members, alongside two former US Presidents. The cemetery also contains British Commonwealth graves.

Whilst at the cemetery, Their Majesties also met service personnel from the UK, Canada, Australia and New Zealand by the Canadian Cross.

Parks and Rex! 🏕️ The King has spent time at Shenandoah National Park in Virginia’s Blue Ridge Mountains and Appalachian Highlands.

⛰️ The Blue Ridge Mountains are among the oldest in the worldand the Appalachian Highlands were, remarkably, once connected to the Scottish Highlands as part of a single mountain chain.

Conservation efforts at Shenandoah include those aimed at preserving the iconic bald eagle, which was at risk of extinction in the mid-1900s. 🦅
