Critiques of psychiatry often conclude by urging psychiatrists to spearhead the field’s transformation, expanding their sensitivities and capacities. Psychiatrists are encouraged to engage politically and advocate for social changes beyond the clinical setting.
2/3 We examined innovative practices of MHAT (Kerala), Ishwr Sankalp (West Bengal) and Burans (Uttarakhand) and found key strategies included prioritising beneficiaries, co-optin resources, devloving care, engaging community and recovery/reintegration.
