@CatholicPods@LeahLibresco Also, some of what Aristotle says about the family should not be taken uncritically, like abortion. Yet the fact that their reproductive cycles will coincide at these ages seems prudent to me.
@spinky32513 @CatholicPods By Church teaching what time line do you mean?
Usually, the emphasis on power relations come from feminism and critical theory as far as I'm aware.
@CatholicPods That's a good point. Though I suspect they will look to Rome more when their survival is secured. I'm not sure that the FSSP etc would be permitted to exist without the SSPX in existence.

To me, the great scandal, indeed mysterium iniquitatis of our age, is that even our pope and bishops seem to be doing the same thing. They do not teach from the common deposit of faith
@CatholicPods 'Essentially, those who defend the SSPX believe that there is no authority on earth qualified to judge the SSPX' would the tradition of the Church count as an authority?
@PhilCatholic@CatholicPods True, maybe, but doesn't it determine the vocation of the wife more than the husband 'or we may say that woman was made chiefly in order to be man's helpmate in relation to the offspring, whereas the man was not made for this purpose.' 3.44.2
