@ProfMJCleveland Visiting is one thing that did happen in my family, but it was more like everyone coming to visit my parents all at once (mom was oldest of 7 siblings). My best Christmas was when I was 5 in '79 & me being the oldest child of those siblings, I got great gifts!

@GrowingUpRetro Tuna fish on toast, mac and cheese, hamburger gravy, Hamburger Helper, spaghetti when mom was doing it. Dad had us eat mostly pot pies when mom was out.

@CaseyMattox_ The only thing traumatic for a lot of us was Challenger exploding on live TV when a lot of us were in class in elementary school watching it. The adults, meanwhile, kept calm and moved on...
@spencerpratt Even though I had untreated mentally ill parents back then, I still don't think the 80s suck. The only trauma I had was watching the Challenger blow up on live TV at school on the very day I turned 12...
