Fun fact: There were 1,280 gigawatts of clean power projects stuck waiting in queues to connect to the grid as of the end of 2022.
If 50% of those were built, that would be all the new capacity needed to cut US GHGs to 50% of peak levels by 2030 & be on path to net-zero by 2050.
The @nytimes Daily episode today re: SVB is absolutely awful. It’s not risky to put your money in a bank. The podcast absolutely misses the thread that thousands of small businesses would have failed if their deposits weren’t made whole.
1. Guinness
2. Original NEIPA -- Alchemist, Hill Farmstead, Bissell, etc.
3. Dry martini
4. Laphroaig 10 neat
5. Coke Zero
(In reality a giant Nalgene full of water would also be on my list, probably at the top)
@ryancmann OakDOT just installed a bunch of new ones on Broadway, and they do change signals in Oakland. The crosswalk signals often don't give you a go signal UNLESS you hit the button.
On my watch, the great American road trip is going to be fully electrified.
And now, through a tax credit, you can get up to $7,500 on a new electric vehicle.
IMO @SFBART should have built the new tunnel, extended it across the Bay, and taken over Muni. Muni trains are too small, unreliable, and infrequent, and the regional integration is subpar.
Take BART to Powell, transfer to the newly opened @SFMTA_Muni Union Square station and take it to Chinatown/Rose Pak station. Get some flowers, treats, fruits, snacks and some air this weekend. ✅
This tweet is also confusing!! What station is the delay at? Trains are flowing, so am I delayed if I’m waiting on the platform at Embarcadero or if I got on a train at Balboa?? @SFBART
There is a 20-minute delay on the San Francisco Line in the SFO, Millbrae, Daly City and East Bay directions due to an equipment problem on the track and police activity.
BART is recovering from an earlier problem. There is a 20-minute delay on the Oakland Airport Line in the Dublin / Pleasanton and Berryessa directions due to police activity at Coliseum.
Entering my 4th calendar year trying to get @OakDOT to simply install a crosswalk at the Adams/Chetwood 580 bridge. Without it, @rideact route 57 bus riders must run across the overbuilt Santa Clara Ave stroad through the always-speeding traffic.
Generous time to cross the street, no beg buttons, no turn on red, and micromobility options everywhere makes Washington DC a great place for getting around without a car.
@stephaniemuci @nikkidubbs09 Every time I go home I basically only eat New Mexican food (best food on Planet Earth) so there's other good food but idk what.
@stephaniemuci @nikkidubbs09 El Patio, Padilla's, Duran's, and Monroe's for classic New Mexican; Frontier for late night/fast food; El Modelo for tamales; The Range for breakfast; Farina for bougie pizza
