@monuments20@AlexHonnold Sweet potatoes, onion, eggs, canned chili - and maybe spinach on top as well. Basically just me mixing all the vegetables in my van together, adding eggs, and making it delicious.
@jen__hm @hulu Not all rock climbers live out of a van. But it is a nice way to live as a rock climber because it allows you a lot of the comfort of a home with the flexibility to travel to good climbing areas.
@Character1031@AlexHonnold There’s a chance I’ll be there. Not competing, though. The people who are qualifying tend to be in the 15-21-year-old range. Way past my prime there. And they are focused on climbing in a gym. Totally different than spending time outdoors.
@lucperkins Shoes, harness, chalk bag and a belay device. Or if you’re feeling really cheap, just shoes and borrow other people’s chalk. Climbing shoes affect your performance more than any other piece of equipment.
@beachchicken Wear whatever you like - whatever makes you feel most comfortable. Though if you wear tight jeans, you might not be able to put your feet where you need to.
@nina_iuppa Depends on the size of the edge - whether or not your feet are on the wall. There’s really no time in climbing that you should be dangling from one arm from a small edge.
@DredTatumBoxing@AlexHonnold 10? 20? The number of pull-ups you can do doesn’t necessarily correlate to how well you can climb. Definitely don’t want to max out because I’d rather save that energy for actual climbing.
@Sandel_David I like pinches - mainly limestone/tufa - but I kinda like it all ... really depends on how clean the rock is and how aesthetic the line is, how flowy the climbing is.
@barxx2 Normally, you climb up to anchors that are attached to the way permanently and when you get to the ground you just untie your knot and pull the rope back down. Typically your rope will last for years.
@TheFenixProject The only way is to build up more fitness. And if you are in the middle of a climb, rest each arm at a time. If you’ve never practiced resting then you won’t be able to recover, even on a really big hold.
