〽️ THE LITTLE BROWN JUG IS GONE. IS MICHIGAN'S SEASON SLIPPING AWAY TOO? 😡🏈
Minnesota 20, Michigan 14. Another frustrating loss. Another offensive meltdown. And now some serious questions about the direction of Michigan football.
The Wolverines led 14–7 at halftime, then failed to score another point. Michigan has dropped two straight, and the problems are getting harder to ignore.
🎙️ NEW https://t.co/5lJRejuSHV PODCAST: MISTAKES ADD UP!
@pcallihan and @clint_derringer aren't holding back as they break down:
🚨 OFFENSIVE DISASTER: Just 11 plays for 14 yards combined in the second and third quarters!
🏈 BRYCE UNDERWOOD: Is he struggling with the offense, or is the offense failing to maximize his talents?
🔥 COACHING UNDER FIRE: Is Kyle Whittingham's staff making the adjustments Michigan desperately needs?
⚠️ ACCOUNTABILITY & LEADERSHIP: Are cracks beginning to show in the locker room?
💪 WHERE'S THE RUNNING GAME? Why has Michigan abandoned the downhill football that built its identity?
👀 THE BIG QUESTION: Can Michigan use the bye week to turn things around before Penn State, or is this season heading off the rails?
Michigan is 3–2, but right now it feels much worse.
💬 WOLVERINE FANS, WE WANT YOUR TAKE!
Who deserves the most blame — Bryce Underwood, the coaching staff, the offensive scheme, or a lack of execution?
And more importantly, do you still believe Michigan can turn this season around?

Michigan should win by 10+ if they play relatively mistake free. But we haven't seen a clean 60 minutes from this team yet, and young teams rarely find it on their first road trip. Expect a grind to come down to the wire.
Michigan 20
Minnesota 17

Gut punch last week: a walk-off 20-19 loss to Iowa. Now this young roster makes its first road trip with the Little Brown Jug on the line. Can the team leadership get Michigan to play a clean 60 minutes? Here are some thoughts by unit...🧵 #GoBlue@UMGoBlog@pcallihan
SPECIAL TEAMS - Return Game: Possession over yardage, again. On the road, a muffed punt is twice as hard to overcome. Keep an eye on the first punt return: secure catch, no drama. Interested to see if there are punt block opportunities #GoBlue
@PDawg206@alexkramerdrake Really supports that MC has a good sense of things
Washington was so fun to watch in 2023. However, that Michigan team was built to beat Ohio State’s offense and it wasn’t much of an adaptation to prep for Penix & the Huskies.
The ling Edwards runs were surprising though.

Settling into the press box for Week 1 in Ann Arbor. Year One, Game One for Kyle Whittingham and the Wolverines as they take on the defending MAC champs, Western Michigan #GoBlue@UMGoBlog
@UMGoBlog DEFENSE: Most people I've seen and heard shrugged off the tough luck nature of the flukey plays. I am concerned still that the defense couldn't get the biggest 3rd down stops, and allowing Iowa to average 31 yards per drive is definitely sub-standard for this unit. #GoBlue

@UMGoBlog OFFENSE: Best full game performance of the year from the offense, and it should have been enough to win against a legit Big Ten opponent. But 2.6 points per scoring opportunity was lethal in a 1-point loss. #GoBlue
@UMGoBlog@pcallihan An avalanche of karma converted into pain for Michigan fans. This group will have to show some serious guts to pick themselves up and play well in their first road game next week against Minnesota. #GoBlue@UMGoBlog

Instant Analysis: Iowa 20 Michigan 19
Did it to themselves. Karma is brutal. Still everything to play for going forward, but it’s going to take some serious leadership to bounce back from that kick below the belt. @UMGoBlog@pcallihan#GoBlue Here are the metrics...🧵
@UMGoBlog@pcallihan 1 point. Didn’t finish drives. Gave up 3rd down conversions. KO Return TD. Penalties followed by poor execution. Even one more run call on Michigan’s last drive would have run those last :02 off the clock. This one will hurt for a LONG time @UMGoBlog@pcallihan#GoBlue
