I will never forget being among the first to arrive and witness the horror of 6 year old children and school staff massacred.
Praying with parents that day began years of ministry from our local church, driving past Sandy Hook now was such a reminder for us to never stop praying.

Just finished recording the sermon for Saltbox Church on Sunday. Now to take Ruth out for dinner, something disallowed for weeks! But, today is our 48th Wedding Anniversary - so everyone, now let the Celebrations begin!

Today, Ruth hits 70. Recovery from surgery goes well, though 5lbs is her maximum lifting weight, Wilmington is great, the little Church here grows, and life is fun!! For our friends, His life and peace we are very grateful. God is so good to us, may He bless you too on this day.

Thank you so very much for all the prayers for Ruth. Cannot tell you the difference it makes to have such support. Surgery was successful, but she was not finally released from hospital till last night.

Tomorrow Ruth heads for Hospital, it is only an overnight stay, but then a six week recovery! She would really appreciate love and prayers...and even the occasional e-mail!

Jesus, I will bring together neighbors, restore the family unit, I will bring dinner back to the kitchen table, I will help people slow down their lives and appreciate what really matters. I will teach my people to rely on me and not the world... to trust me, and not their money.

Quarantined by a disaster we are forced to ask, what can we DO? Ruth's response was that in times when God permits drought, famine or plague 2 Chron 7:14 comes into play. When other action is impossible, to HUMBLE ourselves and PRAY is actually all that God requires of us.

Greetings. Just wanted to share that Ruth was heading for severe/not critical surgery tomorrow. Beds were requisitioned today so the surgery is off. I would be grateful for your prayers for her in her discomfort. They will try again soon. Blessings to everyone.

Returning from personal illness to re-enter a nation in crisis and recall as a young man when Britain was given a salutary reminder, "If my people , who are called by my name, would HUMBLE themselves and pray," (2Chron 7:14).
Is not this same word from God for us in the US today?

So sorry to have been out of touch. Recovery from sepsis took much longer than expected, but I am again thinking on straight lines - to Ruth's relief We are in South Africa convalescing with our old friends. Many thanks for all your love and prayers, just to say that all is well!

This hospital bed was home in London for a week! Amazing NHS care, and great relief at recovering from a bad bout of Congestive Heart Failure. But God was there. With even a nurse who@loved Gavin and Anne's TV ministry. what lovely care and humor the Lord has for his children!

Thanks for all your prayers. We had an amazing weekend with Graham, culminating in nearly 120 at Saltbox Church on Sunday. What began with a dozen of us has really grown, the dream is that maturing in worship will result in moving out to our community!

Today Graham Kendrick arrives for two night's of worship/ministry at Roland Grise school in Wilmington (7p.m. Friday and Saturday) - all welcome. From forty years of knowing Graham I wish more were aware of what this can mean for us here. Please pray that God will move in power.

Tarsus today. Ruth and I just had 5 weeks with Middle Eastern refugees ( those whose faith could expose them to prison, exile or death). Back in US staggered to learn that last month in the US we welcomed zero refugees in a country founded to offer protection for the persecuted.

Ruth with her oldest son-in-law, Andre. the family has expanded but this week Ruth has had a rude awakening. She was introduced at the Evangelical Alliance as the daughter of, wife of, and now mother of three of its previous CEOs. EA has been such a major part of her life!

Last night my youngest son, Gavin, (with Annie and our grandchildren Amelie and Daniel), became the new head of the E.A. Deeply moved, Ruth and I saw a little moment of history repeated. Please do pray for them that our God will bless and greatly use them at this crucial time.
