Commander-in-Chief and President of the EFF, @Julius_S_Malema , criticised the Chairperson for incorrectly alluding that the decision to oppose President Cyril Ramaphosa’s interdict was taken outside of a democratic process.

The Committee spoke in clear terms that the Speaker must oppose the interdict and even suggested that, if necessary, the matter be put to a vote. CIC said the ANC was setting the country up for a trap when it argued that the Committee should leave the matter to the Speaker, knowing that she would ultimately not oppose the application.

He further stated that the ANC is now returning with the same "Nkandla swimming pool" arguments and that the Speaker has failed in her duty as the custodian of Parliament.
