As a local councillor I would like to be beaten after all have spoken to residents, canvassed and been on the streets. We have seen that locally, parties can change the electorates minds
Interesting idea from @GeorgeMonbiot. Get Labour, Green and LibDem candidates for Reigate to host a series of town hall meetings, then audience members vote on who is most likely to beat the Tories. Then the audience agree to campaign for that person only.
@CllrFrankKelly This is a proposal for general National elections (MPs), not local. Nobody is suggesting that prospective MPs shouldn’t do that. This proposal allows local residents to club together and agree to support a single alternative candidate to try to beat the Tories.
I'm pleased to announce we have our first meeting.
We are meeting at Merstham Hub on the 25th at 6pm.
If you are a Nailsworth Crescent resident you are welcome to come along............

@HighwaysSEAST good afternoon,
I have been contacted regarding overnight closures on A23 next week, where can I find more information including diversions etc
@RedhillGreens @reigatebanstead Thanks this confirms what I’ve been on about- that the Council shouldn’t be allowing these shops to disappear
Question- does going against this policy invalidate permitted development rights? #Merstham@GreenKnight2010@MusTary@CllrFrankKelly
