We had a super fun session with Dr Rashmi @_Priya_R! Along with her fantastic work on morphodynamics, she passed on many extremely valuable nuggets of wisdom to our curious young attendees. Missed the session? DM us for a recording of the presentation!
@ClubBiome@TheCrick It was super fun😀thanks for inviting me! You guys hammered me with such sharp questions 😅, I left feeling extremely proud and inspired meeting these young bright minds 🙏
@yoginho Definitely, the 'current instance' of escalated violence was started by Hamas, which in turn was a misled response to the continued process of oppression. Surely one can debate the nuances once the senseless casualties stop - and one hopes a 'state' to comply with global morals.
@yoginho It's more of an idealistic hope that somehow public pressure may reduce hostilities - which I believe is what most of the protesters desire, but it is unrealistic, considering B's position and US' unrelenting support. But realism has rarely deterred hope ...
@yoginho What we have right now is a positive feedback cycle of violence that'll just exacerbate extremism from both ends. A globally brokered ceasefire could atleast attempt a path to peace, bombing the other side into oblivion definitely wouldn't
@yoginho Not defending terrorism, it's universally condemnable, but that doesn't mean it isn't a tool that has been used by powerless and oppressed communities all throughout the planet and in history to voice their grievances when other methods fail
@yoginho Ceasefire might lay the path for some kind of a peace - but after what they've been through and are going through now - why would a young mind not be amenable to extremist ideology? Do you think Palestinian resistance can be stopped even if every terrorist is dead?
@yoginho You believe in complex causation and yet think terrorism occurs in a vacuum? Look what Israel has been doing to them for decades. https://t.co/u9Z6O3WU1a
For historical context, this is probably the most important video you'll ever watch. Let Israelis tell you in their own words how they stole other people's land, how they raped young girls, how they tortured and massacred innocent civilians.
It's frustrating when you want to work in a certain field but the country has only n number of people working in it that too with limited resources. Need some help with finding/connect with Epilepsy Researchers/Scientists around for learning opportunities for a noob graduate.
Is Dev-Bio undergoing a crisis? Maybe not ... but it'll surely be one for you if you miss these upcoming talks from the giants in the field @AMartinezArias and @benoitbruneau! So, crisis or not, come and attend the last talks of the season, and decide for yourself!
Annoyed by the unpredictable weather? Good news is that great VGZT sessions are always predictable! Join us this Thursday to hear about human and zebrafish development. Attending for the first time? Use the link in the bio to register!
Buckle up for a wild ride tomorrow, as we explore sea anemones with @genikhovich, and then change gears to learn about bio-energentics in development with @J_Rodenfels. New to this? Use the link in the bio to register for regular email updates!
Some of you might still be waiting for summer, but we sure don't have to wait more for our regular dose of gastrulation! Cutting-edge tech meets science with @Merlin_Lange, and new frontiers in human development are discovered by @IdseHeemskerk.
See y'all this Thursday!
We're back! After a long, long hiatus, we're looking forward to a hearty discussion with @giorgiogilestro of the Imperial College, London, about his recent work on sensory perception during sleep. Feel free to register using this form : https://t.co/KcneZCsP4t. Open for all!
Hi VGZT community. This coming Thursday we will host Dr Claire Chazaud and Dr Alexandre Francou to talk about gastrulation in 🐁. For all new comers please register to attend the talk. See you all Thursday
We might be inching towards the end of winter, but VGZT is here to stay! This Thursday we'll talk about the evo-devo of questionable openings with @Hejnol_Lab and the role of extracellular matrix in stem-cell based models with @DhirajIndana. New here? Register using link in bio!
ICBMs are so old-school. We present to you, the ICGT! Or, the Inter-Continental Gastrulation Talks! The journey takes off from sunny Cal with @StreichanS and his flies, and ends up over in Moscow with Yulia Kraus and her exotic cnidarians. Join us on Thursday! #MakeScienceNotWar
Time is fleeting, life is ephemeral, but gastrulation is a constant! As we move on to February, here's a glimpse of what's coming up in VGZT!
