Happy Opening Day, Korea. My heart just skipped a beat when I heard the crack of the bat. The sound of the ball smacking the catcher's mitt. I actually appreciate the piped in crowd noises. And the broadcast team is doing yeoman's work in calling this game. I really needed this.

This wonderful piece that @MarcSantia4NY did on my story was nominated for an Emmy. It feels very strange to have written that sentence. The awards were tonight and we came up short. Huge congrats to the team @News12CT for their heartwarming story "Amber's Impact."

Every time I've gone to Comerica Park the last few years, he was always there. Mr. Tiger. Al Kaline. He always made me smile. Seeing him at the park was oddly comforting. I'm sad that I didn't get to see him one last time this season. Rest in Power sir. My heart hurts.

Even if I can't be at Opening Day in a ballpark, I'm still going to enjoy #OpeningDayAtHome with some mini helmet ice cream and a couple of hot dogs. And yes, that is a child sized baseball glove chair (with baseball ottoman) in my apartment. And no, I don't have any children.

Back in my comfort zone. Sloan Park for Diamondbacks vs. Cubs. I got to introduce Ken and @albinokid to one of my old high school pals, Christie, along with her amazing family. I haven't seen her mom in nearly 20 years. Plus we got to see an always fun game of pickle!

Game two with Ken and @albinokid! Cubs vs. Cleveland. No mini helmet in Goodyear 😔, but the hot dog was delectable. Here is Kyle Hendricks tossing up a ball to a young fan, Fransisco Lindor hitting a first pitch, lead off home run, and Slider giving me the side eye.

Somehow, @albinokid and I have never done Spring Training together. Ken pointed that out to us and we immediately had to remedy that. There is no place on Earth I would rather be. White Sox vs. Cubs. First mini helmet ice cream of the season. Let's go!

Congrats to Kalamazoo’s own, Derek Jeter. He told Sports Illustrated once that beating my high school for the state basketball championship was his highest sports achievement. I’d like to think that still stands...also...LARRY WALKER IT’S ABOUT DAMN TIME!!! #HOF2020

Thank you to all of my wonderful friends who joined me for a ballgame in 2019. Thank you to the thousands of amazing strangers I met at ballparks around the country. If we haven't gone to a game yet, let's try to remedy that please. I'll see you all at the ballpark in 2020!

I'm thinking about going to Japan next season to see a game at all 12 of their parks. I'm also trying to fit in some non-baseball related fun. Anyone have any ideas of things I have to do or where I should build in extra days? I've never been to Japan, so all advice is welcome.

The first baseball game I remember going to was at old Tiger Stadium in Detroit. I remember seeing a Cecil Fielder home run that I’m pretty sure is still in orbit around our planet. I got to tell him that story today. Fun times at Yankee Stadium with @zack_hample, Chris, & Sean!
