@lld2135 @mmt98 Yes I agree that a drs office is probably the better place for screening but I would hope that students who are identified as needing counseling support could then access it and schools might be the best place for that if we can increase school therapists/social workers

@mmt98 @lld2135 This issue is just making me wonder about how effective anti-stigma campaigns can be if quality, affordable treatment isn’t available to all. Removing the barrier of stigma doesn’t remove all barriers to treatment. Thanks for your post @lld2135

@mmt98 @lld2135 I think school based assessment/treatment runs the risk of stigmatizing and potentially segregating students, but it may also be the most effective way to deliver free treatment. I am concerned about students being screened but then not having a path to resources

@mmt98 Good question. I think by publicly acknowledging that mental health care is underfunded in our state and that young people in NV are suffering with mental health challenges and suicidal thoughts another door is opened to talking about mental health openly which reduces stigma.
