It is difficult to write as a Catholic on where you can use AI, even as it relates to faith, but also being clear what it cannot or should not do.
People either want anti clanker crusade or ai slop
Pray for the pro-abortion guy who showed to our pro-life protest. At least his sign was hard to distinguish from ours, so I suspect most people thought he was with us.
I'm not saying we shouldn't count them. I'm not even saying that we shouldn't make people who down 5 drones aces. But I am saying maybe we should think about how comparable shooting down a drone is relative to shooting down a pilot.
@butleriano The Linux kernel is like a bulletproof Toyota engine and transmission. The Linux desktop is a chassis built out of old pallets and plumbers strapping. The tires are off a lawn mower. You steer it with your feet.
Linux fans can't understand why people refuse to use it.
@cath_menarion can I get your thoughts on this representation of genAI? I'm onboard with saying it's not actually intelligent but this description seems to be a little underdeveloped.
No. It's artificial, but not intelligent. It's just a natural language interface to an amalgam of an elaborate chatbot, predictive text, macros, a calculator, and google searches these things have all existed for more than 20 years. Heck, Google has been showing the search summary for like 10 years now. The compute just exists to deploy this at scale, now. That's all that's changed. It's absurd to think otherwise.
@blucollarbible@JLLiedl I'm willing to agree that the capability isn't strictly intelligent (even if colloquially said to be), but I think you're underselling what LLMs combined with appropriate infrastructure can potentially do.
