Bog (1978). There's a creature in the bog. It attacks people. Nobody knows what to do so they talk at great length. There is a bit of making out. People sometimes scream or point. A witch is consulted. Things are examined with a microscope. You eventually see a cryptoid.
Some people like Bog, in a so-bad-it's-good kind of way. I don't know if that's justified: I think the movie may have been edited with an axe and stuck together with sellotape. The scenery is nice though, and the haircuts are all period. I did like the station wagon.
You can watch it on YouTube if you are so inclined...

Orchids known as the 'Devil's Poppies' are recorded in Montague Summers in his book on Vampires (1929). These purple orchids have blood red mouths at the centre and are said to be vampires that suck human blood with hideous gusts #BotanicalGothic
Eulagisca gigantea, a type of large scale worm found in the Southern Ocean near Antarctica.
It is known for its metallic gold bristles, which are actually made of chitin and reflect light.
The worm has a terrifying retractable jaw mechanism that shoots out to catch prey.

@d4doome Let It Bee became the soundtrack of 1988 for me. I always had a particular affinity for the sadness of Sorrow Floats, but I find it impossible to choose a favourite track as the whole album is great.
