Another piece of legislation that will have a first reading at the CIFSS Council meeting that will be voted on at the September council meeting is how schools could use their two-week summer "Dead Period."
In a proposal being presented by the Sunset League, the all-sports "dead period" would be trimmed from 14 to 7 days, with each sport selecting how to implement the remaining 7 days. Here's the proposal.

Imagine telling a kid with one chance at his high school experience to stay and grow under sub-par coach, lack of detail and effort from the coaches, somewhere where those responsible for his athletic growth are incompetent......standing on that hill of ignorance is wild.
This transfer stuff in high school has to stop. Here is a novel idea, grow and develop where your feet are. Learn work ethic, accountability, and leadership skills instead of running away when you don't get your way. This also goes for parents. The grass isn't always greener
