🏀SITUATIONAL STRATEGY🧠
DOWN 2 – Baseline Out of Bounds w/1-2 seconds left
✔️Give your team a play with options for a layup, a lob, & a three point shot
✔️This puts pressure on the defense as you to try & tie OR go for the win to avoid overtime

Coaches:
Headed into your pre-season, one of the most valuable things a HS coach can do for their team shooting development is break players up into different groups.
1) the players that are very good shooters already
These players can focus on more game-like practice.
Why add 1-on-1 Cutting Game to your next practice?
1️⃣ Enhance perception-action coupling
2️⃣ Enhance offensive efficiency
3️⃣ Create finishing adaptability

One of our favorite defensive drills. We love this drill too because it includes ball handling and passing
Train how the game is played!
Day 3 of Defensive Love Basketball Academy
Most ball-handling drills don’t prepare players for the pressure they’ll actually face
“Quicksand” forces the ball handler to protect the ball, absorb contact, stay composed and escape pressure against live defenders
Seeing more of this from teams where they start in bunched spacing then slip/screen/sprint to space - so effective because the defense is not set in normal gap/help positions
A key teaching point for Pick and Roll (PNR) play is getting your "hips on the hoop" before the screen arrives. See this clip for more details.
South Aussie players who want to get better at playing out of the PNR, register for our upcoming CLF Basketball camps. PNR will be a big focus!

I don't want our littles to battle too much vs the post up, I want them to be slippery and try to eliminate it.
Yes jam and disrupt early positioning. But once you're in the trenches, quickness > strength.

Freedom Within Structure ⚖️
Provide Players With A/B & Sometimes C Options With & Without The Ball 🔑
Too Much Freedom 🟰 Isolated & Disconnected
Too Much Structure 🟰 Stifles Creativity

“We have a saying that everyone’s role is different, but everyone’s status is the same. It’s a reminder that no matter how bright the spotlight gets, we are all part of something much larger than ourselves.” - Jay Wright
What a tremendous way to put role definition
