"Competitive maturity is difficult. One of the foundational things is it’s not me versus you. It’s me with you. It’s me pushing you for you to get better, so you can then push me to take the next step."
Great teammates compete with each other to complete each other and the team.

56 days until we crack RBs. Our #56 is Christian Hamm, So OLB from Fredericksburg, VA. Christian was a highly decorated HS student-athlete and really hit the ground running his first season with our Tribe. He played in 11 games, showed elite talent, and will build on that in ‘23.
JJ Watt said, “Success isn’t owned, it’s leased. And rent is due everyday.”
Jim Collins said, “Greatness is not a function of circumstance. Greatness, it turns out, is largely a matter of conscious choice.”
Greatness is a choice. A choice to take action.
Greatness is not a destination.
Greatness isn’t determined by your results.
It is the will to put your best foot forward everyday.
4 daily habits for greatness:
1. Treat success with the same skepticism as you treat “failure”
This keeps you humble, hungry, and motivated to continuously improve. When you question your assumptions, you're in better position to adapt.
Success can be a fickle friend, but skepticism is a reliable ally.
2. Spend time reflecting about your performance
• Evaluate your strengths and weaknesses.
• Self-awareness is the first step in growth.
• Look to improve and grow.
• Reflect on your performance and your competitors.
3.Asking the right questions is half the battle.
Ask “How are you separating skill from luck?”
• Control what you can control.
• Be realistic about what's driving the outcome.
• Is it luck or is it skill?
• How are you quantifying luck?
Luck can be fleeting, but skill is something you can cultivate and hone over time.
4. Focus on your most important metrics
Define the inputs that will drive your results and FOCUS on them.
Successful people and teams create personalized scorecards and metrics for measurement. The metrics set expectations on what matters.

CAPTAINS: Leadership is more than a title, position, status, talent, or having a "C" next to your name. Leadership is an action that moves your team forward. A leader helps their teammates to be their best. A leader makes others better. A leader is a positive influence.
"They aren’t your values if you only live them when it’s easy. It’s not the standard if you only live it every now and then. Be who you say you are. It’s not about being perfect, it’s about being consistent.
Commitment > Convenience" @KevinDeShazo
Know that it always starts and ends with you. Have faith in where you’re headed. Take ownership. Learn from your mistakes. View life as a journey. Take a wider view on how long things should take. Be diligent. Be patient. Choose joy every day.
To succeed as an athlete, you need to learn how to handle failure. Once you improve your attitude and start learning from each failure, you can make great improvements and reach your full potential.
The strikeout is called a “K” because before we used numbers to score plays, letters were used for everything.
K was the next letter in “strikeout” not being used.
Single - S
Triple - T
Run - R
Inning - I
💥So K became the symbol for a strikeout.
Now you know 👍
I don't want you worrying about people on the outside or even the person sitting next to you. This is a you vs. you battle.
Whether it's the preparation of mind and body, the understanding of the game, you need to continually get better.
