"The best cultures come from the coaching staffs that are the best demanders.
There are certain non-negotiables.
And those eventually will be called standards.
And our kids are holding each other accountable now.
That's when you now you've got a great program."
It's not a line.
It's a measurement.
A measurement of commitment.
A measurement of sacrifice.
A measurement of respect.
A measurement of integrity.
A measurement of fortitude.
A measurement of effort.
It's a symbol to remind us that greatness lies in the smallest of details.
"The game teaches you about life, about commitment, perseverance, coexisting with others, handling success, and dealing with failure.
It will challenge you.
It will encourage you.
And, if you are lucky, it will reward you too. " @realgranthill33
"Please don't let our expectation for you, be higher than your expectations for yourself.
Don't my expectations for you in terms of your process, your execution, your effort, your preparation, and your confidence be higher than yours."
@CoachMattRhule
A coach must possess mental toughness. A coach must be ready to practice every day. The players realize when a coach is not prepared. The top coaches at every level are the ones that are mentally prepared every day.
I thought it was a good message for us all to hear.
It's easy to complain about changes, but will complaining really help your situation? What are some changes you are having to face and respond to that aren’t easy? How are you handling the change?

Coaches ~ it’s our job to provide these future leaders and captains with the direction.
We have an amazing group of coaches and I can’t wait to see how their team leaders take the Panthers to another level

Players: If you want to lead your team you will have to hold some of your best friends accountable. That isn’t always easy.
The best leaders lead by example and look after their teammates on the court, academically, socially, in the weight room, and in the community.
Leading is not a part-time gig. It’s a full-time job with overtime required. Leaders never punch out; they are always on the clock.
Leaders can’t be selected by coaches. They rise to the position through consistent action and mentality.
Some parts of leadership are fun such as helping teammates who need assistance and being the person who helps make decisions. There is glory in leadership.
However, many parts of leadership are difficult, such as calling up those who aren’t bringing 100% effort, managing conflict, and holding others accountable while also performing at maximum focus and effort every day.
Imagine trying to lead your teammates when you show up late, are inconsistent in your effort, or if you have a bad attitude. It isn’t possible.
However, once you get your habits, mind, and work ethic in consistent order then you’ve opened up the door to help others get there too. The most difficult part of establishing yourself as a leader is showing everyone else that you are the example, that you are the standard. It requires a relentless level of daily effort.
Leaders aren’t perfect; they are flawed just like everyone else. However they bounce back faster than others, they never waver in their effort, and they take responsibility. Leaders own their mistakes and they are elite at turning the page while learning along the way.
Leaders partner with the coaching staff to ensure the program runs at maximum capacity. A coach-led team will never win a championship. A player-led team is a dangerous team that can overcome anything and reach maximum potential.
Medina Valley Baseball landed two seniors on the Texas Sports Writers Association's Class 5A all-state baseball team. Aaron Tondre, shortstop and pitcher, received first-team honors and Whitt Joyce, catcher, earned honorable mention.

Does your team have people that hold themselves personally responsible for the performance of the team?
When adversity strikes true competitors don’t question the coaches, blame others or make excuses.
They hold themselves accountable for the ways in which they make a…
Tom Coughlin said, “Winning is what happens when commitment, desire, talent, preparation, hard work, and leadership all come together.”
Success comes from doing the work.
Winning is your ability to look in the mirror and know you gave your best.
Everyone wants to win, but not everyone is willing to do what it takes to win.
When you focus on winning the moment, that is how you win today and ultimately how you win in life.
6 Keys To Achieving Your Goals and Winning:
1. Be Wholeheartedly Committed: It drives effort and focus showing that you're dedicated to the objective. Set clear and meaningful goals, create a detailed action plan, and remind yourself regularly of your WHY. Stay accountable by sharing your commitment with friends, mentors, and coaches who can support and encourage you on your journey.
2. Have A Passionate Desire for Success: Your passion fuels your motivation and resilience when you face challenges and adversity. Visualize the positive outcomes and how they will impact your life. Stay inspired by learning from the best and how they achieved their success.
3. Be Prepared and Ready: Preparation and readiness lay the groundwork. Break down your goals into smaller, actionable steps and create a plan. Anticipate potential challenges and develop strategies to overcome them. When you fail to prepare, you can't easily adapt and adjust. Continually reflect on your progress and adjust.
4. Show Up And Do The Work: Create the plan and then WORK the plan. Be disciplined and embrace the process. Invest time and energy in pursuit of your goals. You’re only as good as your long-term consistency, so stay disciplined and consistent. Celebrate small milestones and find joy and fulfillment in the journey, this will help you stay motivated and avoid burnout.
5. Focus On Growth and Improvement: Take time to self-reflect and understand your strengths. Work on your skills, improve, and focus on developing your talents. Continuously learn and improve to enhance your abilities and stand out. Think about growth and how you can make growth a daily habit.
6. LEAD, LEAD, LEAD: Set the example and be the example. Set your standard for performance and the be consistent with your action. In team environments, leadership and teamwork are essential for achieving goals. Encourage open communication, feedback, and foster innovation. Connect and build strong relationships with your team while leading with empathy and respect.

John Rhys Plumlee’s day today was INSANE.
He played in UCF’s 5pm home baseball game vs Memphis. Goes 2-3 with a triple and 2 RBIs. UCF wins 12-3.
He then leaves the game in 7th inning, sprints out of the stadium & is escorted in golf cart to the football stadium to play in the @UCF_Football Spring Game at 7:30. Throws 2+ TDs. WILD.
@PlumleeJohn is one of the best stories in college sports.
"You grow up thinking winning is the scoreboard at the end. But you learn there is so much that goes into the business of winning. Winning is the details-the discipline. The business of winning happens every second, & this business doesn’t turn the lights off."
