PE Teacher | Assistant Football Coach | Kidder County Wolves | “You can't be common, the common man goes nowhere. You have to be uncommon." - Herb Brooks
@atticusfinch2x0 Coaches: I'm a teacher. The hardwood is my classroom.
Admin: No teacher could yell & scream & curse at students like that because they missed a math problem or didn't know the 12th president.
Coaches: You don't understand basketball.
It’s coaches like this that have pushed me to Coach the way I do for 33 years.
The world would say he is one of the best college basketball coaches there is. Because he wins.
But, he uses fear and anger to motivate his players. That’s no way to live. That’s not my kind of coach.
Transactional vs Transformational.
Fear vs Love.
Immature vs Mature.
It’s like watching a 2 year old having a temper tantrum. Tough to watch.
@CwellRay You realize that being the best part of a kids day doesn’t mean the easiest part of the kids day. You can challenge kids, promote growth while building relationships- have a difficult practice- and still be the best part of their day right?

Pillars #9 & #10 of Feed the Cats are considered “soft” to many traditional coaches.
9) Make practice the best part of a kid’s day.
10) Kids are good at what they like, obsessed with what they love.
The traditional, old-school approach is to do random “hard things” to become mentally tough. (If practice is hard, games will be easy.)
“Whatever doesn’t kill us, makes us stronger.” ~Nietzsche
The better approach ⬇️
“Often times, the ones that are successful loved what they did so they could persevere when it got really tough.” ~Steve Jobs
@pbasilstrength I have bought many of your programs, and I can attest that your six workouts only take around 20-40 (depending on athlete commitment) minutes of actual time to complete. I use the complete 16-week PE program for my JH weight training class and it has been great.
