🚨TRACK ATHLETES IN GENERAL🚨
If you don’t play a winter sport but plan to do spring track…
Skipping indoor season IS NOT the way
You’ll be behind by the time outdoor starts
Kaitlyn Cook won two events and finished second in two others as the L.C. Bird girls held off Highland Springs and Pryncess Jackson in the Region 5C track and field https://t.co/37Jgpir2Xx
Mike on the 🎤: A quick note to recruits/parents, if you are looking for a big scholarship. You can’t do one event in college, unless your marks could possibly make the NCAA D1 finals. Good student-athletes are doubling or tripling at the Power 5 level at conference meets.
My unpopular opinion:
Most non-elite HS distance runners simply need to run a little more; more often, a little further. Once they get over that small threshold of training volume it all becomes easier. They get a little faster, stay more motivated, and have more fun.
I was told by an NFL personnel director who had FOUR Super Bowl rings that he wouldn’t draft a lineman in the first two rounds if they didn’t throw the shot or disc, no matter what. If you’re a football player and you’re not doing T&F, you’re not a serious FB player.
