Never assume.
Teach.
Kent State HC Mark Carney on one of the most important lessons in coaching.
- Start from scratch
- Don't assume players know it
- Be intentional in how you teach it
At the end of the day, coaches are educators.
The better you communicate, the better your players can perform.
THE LESSONS COACH VERMEIL TAUGHT US ARE MAYBE MORE VALID AND NEEDED THAN EVER BEFORE IN COACHING TODAY'S ATHLETES. HE USED TO SAY PEOPLE HAVE AN UNBELIEVABLY HIGH TOLERANCE OF PRAISE BUT HE ALSO DEMANDED THAT YOU WERE HONEST WHEN HANDING OUT PRAISE!
Just one day after ending "The Late Show" on CBS, Stephen Colbert returned to TV — to host a public access show with rocker Jack White in Monroe, Michigan.
Appearances by Jeff Daniels, Eminem and Steve Buscemi.
My friend Steve ran into Dominique Wilkins at a pizza place in Georgia, went home to show him the sneakers ‘Nique gave him forty years ago, and it was just as meaningful a moment for Wilkins as it was for Steve.
Beautiful.
.@EarFunAudio submitted an email about an issue with my tw600-us-L on 4/15. I responded with the requested information on 4/16. I have received no response since. These were the 3rd product of yours I've bought. The lack of customer service communication is unacceptable.
Ole Miss with a four strong Sail concept out of split backs. Sail coming from the backfield.
Protection design with the pulling guard allows the offense to keep 7 in if needed.
Wide splits create problems because defense relies on rules to execute across volume.
Old Dominion uses those expanded lanes to create explosive runs and RPO access throws. When the offense widens the formation, the box expands, second-level defenders get stressed horizontally, and the run game has more room to hit.
That same spacing also creates pass-game conflict. With two detached receivers, the defense often tries to get to three-over-two. That can leave a void down the middle if the back is treated like a back, but releases cleanly as a vertical threat.
Now add a running quarterback. The linebackers have to respect his legs, their eyes get held, and the back gains access behind them.
Wide splits are not just spacing. They are rule manipulation. If you have a running quarterback, they are certainly worth exploring.
