MULTI SPORT ATHLETE
Playing multiple sports is getting tougher and tougher for young athletes. The overlapping of in season and off season tbh has gotten out of control.
That being said, the benefit that playing multiple sports has been documented over and over again. I try to frame it to our athletes and parents from a development standpoint is that …. sometimes what you are looking to improve on in your main sport, can be found by playing a different sport.
Everybody in the stands think they know what’s best for a team or who should play. They don’t spend anytime w/ the team. Don’t see how players practice, don’t know their attitude, their effort, don’t know their academic standing, or how well they know plays/system. Yet, EVERYONE thinks it’s easy & simple. Of course it’s more than ok for you to have an opinion but you don’t truly know the ins and outs.
"The strength of a team lies in each member's ability to selflessly contribute to the greater goal, leaving no room for personal agendas." - @TonyDungy
"No matter how talented you are - don't count on cruising through life on autopilot.
Successful people are intentional people." @CJMcCollum
Success isn't accidental. It's a result of purposeful actions and unwavering focus.
