This is an example of how pullers change the math. Defensively you have to match the addition and subtraction. I will put a link to an article I wrote about this in the replies.

Boy i wish HS players understood this.

Casual practice habits create casual game habits that have you looking crazy when you can’t turn it on.

ASSIGNMENT FOR YOUR TEAM: Have every player cover their eyes with one hand. Slowly turn them around a few times until you say “stop.”
- Now tell them to point to True North.
- Then have them uncover their eyes.
- Hands will be pointing everywhere.

Teams WANT to point in the same direction—but you have to GIVE them something clear to point at.

I spoke with a Division I coach last week. Their program will add nearly 30 new players in January and another 20 in the summer.

Culture is 100% year-to-year. It’s a January → December cycle.

The only way a team points the same direction is with an intentional culture, led daily by 8–10 trained members of a leadership council and/or captains.

That’s exactly what the Leadership Academy is built to do—equip your captains to align the team to your True North.
