⭐Celebrating National Girls and Women in Sports Day⭐
🎥 Hear from some of our THSCA Board Members as they discuss why high school sports plays such a critical role in shaping young women! #NGWSD#GirlsInSports
Excited to share my thoughts on what this day means to me as a coach. High school sports and women in leadership are incredibly important, and I believe in the power of empowering young athletes. Let’s continue to inspire & uplift each other in our journey! #NGWSD#GirlsInSports
Don’t confuse your role with your value.
Championship players don’t count minutes; they make their minutes count.
A good teammate will never be defined by their role.
A good teammate will be defined by their willingness to excel in that role.
Great coaches are truth tellers.
“When you experience failure you have two options. You can either tell yourself the truth or you can lie to yourself.”
Truth builds trust.
Truth builds toughness.
Truth builds better teams.

If you’re not playing well or consistently, don’t complain about what you “deserve,” what’s “not fair,” or how a coach has “let you down.” You let yourself down when you skip the weight room, avoid extra reps & refuse to build a real plan to get better. Accountability > excuses.
Appreciate the NOW.
Rick Pitino nails it. Every player’s hourglass runs out faster than they think.
One day, the practices, the games, the grind…it’s all gone.
Cherish every rep, every moment, every opportunity.
Don’t waste your sand. ⏳
Molly Miller highlights two of her program's core values: Communication and commitment.
"Communication is expected, commitment is required...I tell our kids all the time you can't just pick and choose which pieces of the program you want to be committed to."
Communication fosters connection. Commitment aligns effort.

Misty Fletcher-Remmers from Wimberley HS reflects on one of her high school coaches and the lasting impact she made on her! #TXHSCoachesDay@WimberleyISD
Players have 2 choices: Either pout or prepare. Whether you play or don’t play, whether you win or lose, you will never regret working hard, making commitments, being disciplined or focusing too much. These skills not only prepare you for your game, but will prepare you for life!
Behind every win is a leader who believes in their team.
BIG congratulations to Coach Wunderlich on 500 career wins! We are so thankful for you!💙💛 #GoBuffs
Dear Parents—your child doesn’t need to be the smartest in the class, the best on the field, or the most talented in the room.
But they do need to be teachable.
We’ve raised a generation that can Google every answer, but too many are forgetting how to listen, respect, and learn.
Being teachable isn’t about grades or intelligence—it’s about humility. It’s about realizing you don’t know everything and being willing to grow when someone tries to help you.
As parents, we don’t need to raise perfect kids.
We need to raise kids who can take feedback without falling apart.
Who can apologize.
Who can show respect even when they disagree.
Who can be corrected without becoming combative.
Because teachability will take them further than talent ever will.
The team you’re on matters way less than the attitude, effort & energy you bring daily. Freshman, Soph, JV, Varsity, starter, 2nd string, role player— that doesn’t define you. How you respond to your role, work for the role you want, & help your team WIN does! Team first always!
