Toughness isn’t something you’re born with — it’s something you build.
It’s not about talent; it’s about commitment.
It’s not a feeling.
It’s a decision.
Over and over again.
Toughness is the difference between the ones who talk about winning and the ones who actually do it.
Teaching and Coaching is a gift.
Long days. Long hours. Great Joy.

"Sometimes toughness looks like playing hard for 40 minutes, but sometimes toughness looks like cheering your teammates on from the bench.
In any circumstance, toughness is an option.
Toughness is about the effort, not the role."

"It doesn’t matter how hard you work as an individual if you accept mediocrity from everyone else around you."

Greatness is not exclusive or elusive, but the discipline and dedication to achieve it is.
Challenge and inspire others to your standards of performance.
John Wooden said, "Champions never complain, they are too busy getting better."
The only thing complaining changes is your attitude.
When you complain, you focus on the negative rather than looking for opportunities for growth.
Complaining is not a solution, it's a distraction from action, gratitude, and growth.
How to Combat Complaining:
1. Lead by example - Your behavior sets the tone for those around you. Demonstrate a positive attitude and focus on finding solutions rather than dwelling on problems.
2. Promote problem-solving - Shift the focus from what’s wrong to how it can be improved. This promotes an environment where people are motivated to address issues head-on rather than wasting energy on complaining.
3. Implement a "No Complaining" rule - Don't even let the complaining exist, discourage it. By doing this, you create a culture where negativity is replaced by constructive actions and solutions
4. Make gratitude a habit - This mindset shift reduces the tendency to complain by building the muscle of gratitude. Regularly practice gratitude by acknowledging and appreciating the positive aspects of your life.
5. Encourage positive communication - Encourage expressing concerns in a constructive manner that focuses on solutions and improvements. This leads to productive conversations and more effective communication.
"I accept the circumstances, but I won't let it consume me."
Wow! Tom Brady may have just delivered the greatest quote I’ve ever heard.
“To be successful at anything, the truth is you don’t have to be special. You just have to be what most people aren’t: consistent, determined and willing to work for it.”
PLAYERS: "If you just want to be average then you do average work. If you want to be a little bit above average, you do a little more work. If you want A’s in basketball, you have to do stuff other people aren’t willing to do.“ (Geno Auriemma)

Coach K said, "Be as tough as your mothers. They show up all time."
This is the level of toughness it takes to be great.
Happy Mother's Day to all the moms out there tomorrow!
