Are you consumed with coaching / helping develop kids?….something EVERY coach needs to ask themselves and continue to ask every year to ensure they are giving their very best to the sport / kids they coach!
Mike Leach was Consumed
When Mike Leach was getting his law degree he reached out to a famous attorney to see if law was really what he wanted to do with his life.
This was the response he got...
"I love law. I hate law. But, most importantly, I am consumed by law. I think about it all the time, and yes, I would do the same thing again because it is fulfilling to do something you are consumed with. If you are consumed by law, go be an attorney. If you are not, find something else."
Mike followed up that response with these thoughts...
"The words he used resonated: being consumed.
Most people will say you should love what you do or enjoy what you do.
Enjoy what you do, though, is an oversimplification.
If you're ever really good at anything, you don't enjoy it all of the time because there's a chase and a challenge to it that goes beyond enjoyment.
There is a certain pain that goes into having truly great success. You will have to overcome a lot of obstacles.
I thought about law some, but I thought about sports, football in particular, a lot.
YES! I should go out and try to become a football coach!"
We had a great time at #nighttoshineshoals tonight‼️
We have been coming to this event for several years now and it is always such a rewarding experience. Thankful to have several elite young men who step up to serve others at things like this each year!
