The annual Corky Kell + Dave Hunter Classic kicks off Wednesday at Mercedes-Benz Stadium, with Lanier and South Gwinnett opening the action at 5 p.m. before the marquee matchup between the Grayson Rams and North Gwinnett Bulldogs at 8 p.m.

Grayson enters a new era under head coach Greg Carswell, looking to bounce back after last season’s 6A quarterfinal loss to Carrollton. The 2024 state champions are once again loaded with talent, especially on defense. The Rams feature a pair of highly regarded Nebraska commits, along with Georgia commit Waylon Wooten, a dominant 300-pound defensive lineman.

Big stage. Big-time programs. Big-time talent.

Georgia high school football is officially back.
