Kevin Carberry – OL, Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Set the tone early.
First play of the game can send a message.
Physicality is contagious.
Be ready when your number is called.
Preparation creates confidence.
Develop your depth.
Trust your preparation.

Wide zone is more than a run play.
It’s tied to the bootleg and play-action system.
Schemes evolve.
Fundamentals do not.
Get the second step in the ground.
Strike with your hands and hat.
The game is still about leverage and contact.
Just wanted to share this directly before any rumors start — after much reflection and thought, I’ve made the decision to step away as the Head Football Coach at Delano HS.
This decision is mine and mine alone. It comes with deep gratitude for the players, coaches, and families
You don’t rise to the level of your ambition —
you fall to the level of your discipline.
Either your habits get stronger or your goals get smaller.
There’s no middle ground.

SARK ON CULTURE
"It is not a sign in your building. It's not a t-shirt you wear. It's not breaking the team down & saying Culture on 3 ... Who you are some of the time is who you are all of the time."
Culture is lived out on a daily basis.

"My bad isn’t accepted here. We have a commitment to excellence. You need to do what you are supposed to do - instead of looking like you’re doing what you’re supposed to do." @DeionSanders
Great teams only do things two ways: the right way or again. Commit to 'the first time'
“The people that are leaders on your team have to be committed to doing things the right way."
Leadership isn't about establishing rules.
Leadership is about setting standards.
Leadership isn’t about telling people what to do. It’s about showing them what excellence looks like.
Bill Belichick said, "You earn your teammate's trust through your performance and your consistency every day. You earn that trust through dependable performance."
Trust is earned, not given.
It means consistency, transparency, and communication.
How to earn trust:
PLAYERS: You're either making things better or making things worse for your team. You're never a neutral teammate. You're either helping your teammates or not. You're either encouraging or not. You're either providing a good example or not. Great teams have great teammates!
Matt Rhule said, “Toughness is mental and physical strength to do what you are supposed to do no matter what the circumstance, no matter how hard it is, no matter what the conditions are, no matter how you feel.”
Toughness isn't a talent, it's a skill.
You build it through doing tough things.
It means you choose choose adaptability, courage, and ownership as daily habits.
• It takes resilience.
• It takes consistency.
• It takes the ability to face challenges head-on.
Your ability to be tough is developed, not inherited.
"If I'm hiring a coach, I'm hiring a culture builder. Every coach will know the game but can they connect, communicate a clear vision, hire/recruit/develop people well, multiply their leadership? Coaching is about X's and O's. Leadership is about culture."
