***Exclusive preview***

The DeSoto Lady Eagles Basketball program has shared with me a preview of their brand new Logo. The National Powerhouse Program has made a name for itself on the court...But, Coach Chatman tells me, that his program will be at the "forefront" in branding off the court also and that the DeSotoU brand will continue to be tops in the nation. He said he was excited to present this preview of their new logo and that it truly captures the essence of the U. 🔥🔥🔥

Grit is not the absence of fear.
It's the acknowledgement of it & having the willingness to still act.
It's being uncertain of an outcome, but remaining dedicated to it.
It's allowing the potential for failure in order to achieve success

DeSoto ISD has confirmed that coach @ChatmanJeffery and the @DesotoGBB75115 have hired Coach Melonie Hopson to their growingly impressive staff of coaches. Coach Hopson has been the head coach at District foe Skyline for the last 9 years, where she has complied an impressive 189-95 record. During that time, Coach Hopson was the District Coach of the Year three times and made the playoffs 7 out of 9 years including two Regional Semi-Finalist trips and 3 District Championships. Coach Hopson has been a coach for 21 years and is a Dallas area native, graduating from Skyline HS where she was a basketball star. She went on to play college basketball at several levels including D1 Univ. of Ark Pine Bluff. Coach Hopson is one of the DFW area's most respected coaches, coming from the coaching lineage of Hall of Fame coach Cassandra McCurdy, who she served as Assistant Coach under at Skyline for 7 years before being picked as her replacement. This hire could be considered quite a flex by the powerhouse Lady Eagles program, hiring a district rival coach that adds winning experience with deep DFW roots to the already talented staff. Coach Chatman said, that hiring coach Hopson was a "no brainer", that her "knowledge & experience" would be invaluable to Lady Eagles' team. Coach Hopson joins recently hired Texas Basketball Legend Amber Ramirez, who's widely considered one of the US best skills training coaches. This leaves one more coaching position open, which sources tell me is likely another Texas GBB Legend who went on to be a college basketball great and then a long career in the WNBA & International Basketball. This coaching team Coach Chatman has assembled is definitely making waves in the coaching community, with several college coaches weighing in and calling it "one of the best staffs in the US and possibly rivaling some college ones" With hires like Coach Hopson, it's hard to not agree.
