"Your choice is about conditions & circumstances. God's choice for you is about grace and mercy. When its on your lips, it comes out of your mouth, it comes from your heart"

Steph Curry with a great message here about affecting the game, even when you don’t stat
“If it’s not your night stat wise, whether you play two, 10, 20 minutes, come with the right energy.”
A winner is a winner, no matter how many minutes they play
Life rarely changes in a positive way without an increase in responsibility.
That can mean taking ownership of your health or committing to a relationship or starting a business.
Whatever it is, if you want the trajectory to change, the amount of responsibility usually has to change.
Tom Brady explains his mental edge and why practice (not gameday) creates separation.
"There was a part of me that was a psychopath out there. I was extremely hypercompetitive every day. I didn't feel like let's get to Sunday and now it's the time...Every day is the time to give your best, even in practice."
Every day your standards are either reinforced or lowered by how you treat practice.
You don’t flip a switch into excellence. You rehearse it daily.

10 players on the court
1 player has the ball
9 players don’t have the ball
The majority of the game will be played without the ball
In our trainer heavy, skill development world we live in…
More players than ever think their value is only in what they do when they have the ball
Defend, talk, Make extra pass, remind a teammate, anticipate & close off a drive, set a screen, do what winners do
TWO DAYS
Coaches
What do you do with the 2 days you have between games
Example
You lose a game on Tuesday night
You play a game on Friday
You have 2 days of practice on Wednesday & Thursday to work on the things you need to improve on
How you prioritize what you do in practice, film, walk-thru matters
What’s your process?
Would love to hear from both veteran and young coaches
I think this could be a valuable and insightful thread for coaches to learn from one another

Accountability isn’t punishment — it’s proof you care. Holding others to a high standard says, I believe in you too much to let you do less than your best.
Honored to spend some time with @TroyTrojansMBB last week!
Grateful for the opportunity to speak into the lives of these young men and challenge them to lead with integrity on the court, in the locker room, and in life.
Huge thanks to the coaching staff for the warm welcome!

Train the feet 🦶🏽
•
Maybe the lowest hanging fruit in all of performance. This summer we accumulated 45-60min a week with an intentional focus on the foot and lower leg 👇
It doesn’t make sense to continue wanting something if you’re not willing to do what it takes to get it.
If you don’t want to live the lifestyle, then release yourself from the desire. To crave the result but not the process, is to guarantee disappointment.
The way you train - your speed, your sharpness, your intent - determines your results.
Train like most do and you get what most get.
Train with UNCOMMON urgency, detail, and purpose… and you’ll separate yourself.
“Good” will ALWAYS fall short of GREAT!
