This is such an ELITE quote
“Sometimes coaches brag about having 20, 30 years of experience but if all you did was the same thing every year and never learned or grew — all you have is 1 year experience repeated 30 times”

If we could get the idea that the kids don't come to school to do work for us, but instead they come to school to experience learning designed by us, we might see some real changes.
Our job is to design for learning to happen.
Not to come up with work for kids to do.
Coaches have favorites.
Their chosen ones?
Players who grind the hardest, radiate positivity, embrace coaching, and put the team first.
Coaches don’t have favorite players.
They have favorite qualities that those players relentlessly demonstrate.
Ive coached a few dozen kids whose parents played professional baseball.
Their kids are often the best players.
The parents are almost ALWAYS the least involved and during games they are silent and not emotional. #justanobservation
Please stop screaming 'SHOOT IT!'
1) shooting should be a decision, not a reaction
2) instructions should only come from the coach
3) young players can only process so much info at a time
4) you're undermining their ability to make decisions

@FeitCanWrite@huskerfan4life9 Gotcha. So if we are only living in the world of Nebraska athletics, with no regard for the top sports according to Iowa athletics, or what would would be considered the top college sports nationwide for that matter, then you are correct.
@FeitCanWrite@huskerfan4life9 So volleyball is more of a “top sport” than women’s basketball or wrestling? I’m not sure the majority of the country would agree.
Districts or schools that remove students from physical education, music, Arts, or other classes to remediate them in other areas, have no idea of the immediate and long term damage they are doing to these students. These may be classes that help them love school.
"You're going to have people that will tell you- you won’t- that you can’t- that you shouldn’t. Most of those people are the people that didn’t-that wouldn’t-that couldn’t. Succeeding or failing isn't making it to 'the bigs'; it’s not having to live with regret b/c I didn’t try."
Great teams don't compete against an opponent. Great teams compete against a standard of play. It's not about being the better team. It's about being better today than you were yesterday. This mindset doesn't always produce a win, but it always produces winners.
Take the mute button off 🔇 It can honestly be the difference. I’ve always said it, there is a huge difference in Australia with this compared to other countries. I want to try & change that. Coaches get a huge buzz from players really showing that they want to be there & learn⚽️
PLAYERS: "You don't ever judge how you play by how you shoot the ball or how many points you score. You always judge how good you play by how your effort and whether you play to the best of your ability and you executed.”

There's a ceiling to talent. There's no ceiling to someone's hunger & to someone's drive to be the best. How hard a team works, how hard they play, how together they are- there's no ceiling to that. Many times in life what's invisible is what's important.
