@InStilettos_NHL Terrific interview Kristy. I always enjoyed coaching and when you connect with the kids and the trust is there, you learn just as much as the players. I had parents approach me in the bank a few days ago to chat about the season I coached their kid. Purpose and community!
Throughout my career, I've been dismayed by the contempt some genre executives have held for fans, routinely underestimating their power to make or break a show. I've watched this repeat too many times, across too many shows, to be talking about any single one of them. Yet despite the mounting evidence over the past few years, they continue to dismiss the data, repeating the same miscalculations time and again.
But technology has rewritten the rules, and the power dynamics are shifting. Today’s fans are organized, strategic, and highly data-literate - effectively turning the platforms' own metrics against them.
As the bets get bigger and the audience grows sharper, it will be fascinating to see how this plays out.
Stargate Fans:
If you didn’t know, one of the writers has another sci-fi show which is excellent and not a lot of people know about. It’s on Netflix.
Give it a watch.
Stargate was an overwhelming success because of the writers, producers, and cast members who gave it a beating heart and a luminous soul... you can't recapture that kind of success by just slapping the name "Stargate" on some generic sci fi/action tv show.
Please @AmazonMGMStudio@PrimeVideo... you had a home run on your hands. The very people who made Stargate a multi-billion dollar franchise in the first place were back and ready to take the franchise to new heights... and due to the short-sightedness of one of your executives, you showed them the door.
But it's not too late to change your mind. You can still #SaveStargate and usher the franchise into a new golden era. 🙏🙏
