🏀 Young Assistant Coaches…

🪜 Everyone wants to climb the ladder as fast as they can… and we all probably think we are better then we are. (especially when we are young, starting up and even more so if our team sees success early)

‼️ The reality is that getting to build through a full cycle (3-5 years) at a program under the same head coach is the most ideal scenario.

🤝 3-5 years in a program also allows you to learn how to do your job, become efficient at it, then find and fill gaps within the program.

🗣️ 3-5 years in a program allows you to complete a true recruiting cycle from finding a prospect, fully recruiting them, signing them, then actually coaching them and seeing if your evaluation was good enough for them to impact winning.

📈 That time allows you to grow and track things that you touch directly.

🙏 Everyone’s story and growth journey is different, will rarely align with what was described above… The biggest element is intentional growth and reflection each year to find ways to be more efficient and organized which allows you to take on more tasks to grow the program.

🚚 Lastly, sometimes the best career move is to make no move at all and staying where you are!
