They might as well abolish the rule of carrying the ball. In Atlanta, when I was coaching actively daily, I had a referee friend who told me that carrying was any pickup of the ball beyond a handshake grip. In today's game , you might as well use a walmart bag

Do you; fault the horse or the rider? The waitress for the cook's pile of dung? The plane for putting the pilot to sleep or the pilot? The player or the coach?

Cooper was a Rickea'esque talent and could undoubtedly have done more. But she, as well as Jackson would only answer to a particular type of coach. And Holly, Kellie and even Kim are not that type of coach. Further all 3 of the last LV coaches were too afraid to have "said-type of coach" in their "yes-men" pools... Kim needs that coach who can ground her and make her deal with the tough issues and teach her not be so tough that no one will ask her those questions.

Right now assistant coaches are jumping at the opportunity, not to "coach here", but to "have coached" here. . . . This is right now a "resumé booster school". This new batch of assistants will cower like prior ones and give up like the prior ones. ANd use the good name "Tennessee" on their next application.

What will make her a success is to have that influence that will look at her,face to face and say (without a grin) "that plan sucks,,,because..." (And then have the "better" answer ready).

Bill is an Alpha (I think)...but is he a alpha-lead-cheerleader or a alpha-lead-coach?...We'll see.

getting back to the OP,,,If Rickea hadn't had "that coach" to step up and help her she would have gone the way Coop did,,,And if Coop had had such an influence...who knows?

Coaches like Kim have the potential for greatness, but it is their ego that defeats them....They can't admit that their is another level that they need to reach....Rickea was mentored for the personality she was. The same stands true for Cooper,,,she would only excel for the influence that showed her she hadn't learned everything yet. But, she was out there with coaches who could not/did not further her skills.

Nope, it wasn't Coop's fault she "had to" shutdown, nor Barker's, nor Ruby's, nor eleven other players...(You heard it, after every game the presser said "My team just quit out there") and next will be (I predict: Smikle's),,,.

Or maybe it WAS! the horse's, the waitress's, the plane's,,,the player's fault!...Nope, not in this ol' coach's opine!

A full circuit would have 22 shot spots ( 5-inside the paint, 7-midrange, 5-at the arc and 5-logo spots) 5 shots at spot each with the following initial goals (per spot...inside the paint 4 in a row, midrange 3 in a row, arc 2 in a row and logo at least 1 make per spot...All ranges follow the following locations (( both baselines, both elbows and top of the key (extended for long-range),,with two additional locations for the mid-range: 3 ft out from the second hash marks (for this shot it must be a bank shot).

Initially catch and shoot, progress to catch and pivot into the shot and finally catch and move to the shot...Fly me out and I can show you more unique drills..e.g...My rapid-fire team shooting drill,,, 5 players, 120 shots in 120 seconds. No oNe else has such a drill...DM me
