Shout out to Mrs. Kauffman & Mrs. Richardson for serving as our Design Process experts & roller coaster judges! Our 2nd grade engineers learned so much about force, motion, & problem-solving. Their creativity & perseverance were incredible to watch! #LearningByDoing
The @midvieweast Coding Crew is hard at work learning how to use Hummingbird Robotics Kits to bring our mini golf hole features to life. @birdbraintech@MidviewLocal
Across Lorain County, students are discovering what engineers do - identify a need, design with empathy, and create solutions that matter. Kim Kauffman’s class from @MidviewLocal is a shining example of that kind of learning.

Sixth graders @midvieweast shared their Design & Modeling AFO prototypes with MHS @PLTWorg Biomedical and Engineering students. The Top AFO Showcase is always a meaningful experience for all involved. @MidviewLocal
AFO Prototypes are coming along nicely in 6th grade STEM/PLTW class @midvieweast. We are almost ready to test to see if we met the design requirements.
The 5th Grade Paper Tower Building Challenge allowed students @midvieweast to reach new heights in collaboration and critical thinking during STEM/PLTW class. @MidviewLocal
East students have been hard at work building OVER 100 upcycled arcade games for STEM Night on May 8! This free, space-themed event promises hands-on learning & family fun centered around science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM). Learn more here: https://t.co/f1INslXXwF
The Middie Makers Upcycled Arcade Design Challenge has begun! Our final prototypes will be ready to play during Midview’s K-6 Family STEM Night on May 8 @midvieweast. @MidviewLocal#MiddieMakers
Thank you Miranda Szink from @PLTWorg for visiting my Innovation Studio @midvieweast today! My students enjoyed sharing their PLTW/STEM experiences and successes with you. #MiddieMakers@MidviewLocal
In their PLTW STEM class, fifth graders discovered how to use a series of simple machines to build contraptions that solved a problem. They learned their overly complicated chain reactions were called Rube Goldberg Machines.
Mrs. Horne’s & Mrs. Justice’s classes @midvieweast kicked off @youngeinstitute Pitch Challenge today. Thanks to John Bledsoe from Co-Angler for sharing his entrepreneurial journey. Students were inspired hearing how he turned his passion for fishing into a tech company. #YIPPEE
Launching back into learning like....🚀
East PLTW Design & Modeling students have been using the engineering design process to create air skimmers. Today, they tested their accuracy and precision on the "Air Skimmer Speedway!"
Proud of my engineers and appreciative of this collaboration with @midviewbiomed. My students gained so much from having high school students take time to listen and give feedback,
Over the past few weeks, 6th-grade STEM students have designed Ankle Foot Orthoses prototypes to help children with spastic hemiplegia, a form of cerebral palsy, walk more easily. The top teams presented their prototypes to guest judges from our MHS Biomedical Sciences class!
5th graders @midvieweast are completing the longest paper plate STEM transformation: How long can you make one paper plate by cutting it in some way? @MidviewLocal#MiddieMakers
