Asterisk Talley went back to high school after the Augusta National Women's Amateur and watched the Masters during class.
(When she was done with her work, of course.)
She's playing on a sponsor invitation at this week's LPGA event in L.A.
"It's always great to have that support on and off the golf course, even if you have the best day or the worst day." 🙌
Asterisk Talley is back to work this week, making her second @LPGA start of the season @JMEagleLAChamp.
Asterisk Talley showed plenty of emotion when talking about her family after the round.
"They just told me that they love me. It didn't define me as a player that that happened out there. It's hard not to get emotional. There's so much support out here. Sorry.
"I think it's harder when there's support out here watching you do that, but it's great they're still with me right now. I'm really happy that they're here."
Six athletes that have been impacted by the @usndpgolf are competing in today's @DriveChipPutt National Finals!
@USGAMike shares more from Augusta National.
It wasn’t just that Asterisk Talley spoke with the press yesterday after a devastating collapse on Amen Corner. Though that in itself was a feat.
Talley, 17, answered many of the questions that came her way on the podium through tears. She was thorough, thoughtful and gracious. Not once did she try to cut the interview short, answering more than a dozen questions until there were no more.
Sometimes, the most compelling story is that of the brokenhearted. It’s when we learn the most about a person.
On Saturday at Augusta, a junior player who has already experienced tough losses endured her toughest yet, and she handled it with class.
Here’s Talley on the quadruple-bogey 7 she made on the par-3 12th at Augusta National:
“W” for Asterisk Talley today. That was so tough on No. 12. I can't imagine what it felt like in the moment.
But she kept her chin up and then stood in front of us and answered every question with honesty and grace. At age 17? Huge, huge props.
