🚨 OMG. Sec. Scott Bessent is taking NO BS from Dem Sen. Chris Van Hollen right now, he just WENT OFF
HOLLEN: You gave a windfall to very wealthy people who don't pay their taxes!!
BESSENT: "Senator, WHY would I do that? WHY would I do that? What is your theory of the case, Senator!? I am COMMITTED to collections."
HOLLEN first accused Bessent of blowing up IRS enforcement
BESSENT: "DEMOCRATS said that the filing system was going to be a DISASTER — but it's been a home run!"
"And what you are NITPICKING me on now is the difference between answering a call in 6 minutes and 9 minutes!"
"And sir, let me tell you the way the calls used to work, that the IRS under the Biden administration would answer the call in six minutes, and a taxpayer would be on hold for 20 or 30 minutes. Now when the taxpayer's call gets answered, they get serviced right away!"
Boom.
“If there was a transfer portal 40 years ago, we all would have transferred that day.”
It wasn’t always warm and fuzzes to play for Lou Holtz.
That toughness led to greatness for them as players and people says former Holtz players Chris Zorich, Shawn Wooden and Corny Southall.
Lou Holtz came to my hometown in Rock Hill, S.C., in 1989 to recruit the great @JeffBurris93 to Notre Dame. Was a huge deal for the community. Legend has it Holtz danced a little Irish jig in the living room when Jeff committed. I’ll let Jeff confirm. Holtz was one of the true football icons of my lifetime.
My father passed away today resting peacefully at home. I appreciate everyone’s thoughts and prayers over the last couple months! He was successful, but more important he was Significant.
“If you want to be happy for an hour eat a steak if you want to be happy for a day go play golf. If you wanna be happy for a week go take a vacation, but if you wanna be happy for a lifetime, put your faith in Jesus Christ.”
#RIP Lou Holtz
Scott Van Pelt and Rece Davis share an amazing story about Lou Holtz playing golf at Augusta National.
Holtz - a member at Augusta - would routinely lay up on the par-3 12th hole for up-and-down pars over Rae's Creek.
Legend behavior.
There are moments in life when words just aren’t enough. Losing Coach Holtz is one of those moments.
Coach was so much more than a football coach to me. He was family. I still remember the day he came to my house to recruit me. He didn’t just sit down and talk to me about football or what I could do on the field. He talked to me as a young man. And he spoke to my mom the way a man should speak to a mother who was trusting someone with her son. He looked her in the eye and promised that I would be taken care of at Notre Dame. That moment meant everything to us, and it’s something I’ve carried with me my entire life.
Coach Holtz believed in people. He believed in building men, not just players. He welcomed my entire family into the Notre Dame family and always made sure we felt that love and support. That’s who he was. He cared deeply about the people around him, and he made every one of us feel like we mattered.
The lessons he taught me went far beyond football. His faith, his discipline, his belief in doing things the right way shaped who I became as a man, a father, and a leader.
My heart is broken today, but I’m also filled with gratitude for the time I had with him and for the impact he had on my life. Coach will always be with us—in the lessons he taught, in the lives he changed, and in the love he gave so freely.
Thank you for everything, Coach. I love you.
You will forever be in our hearts.

Hey President Moorhead, why don’t you and Commissioner Sankey start by enforcing yourselves. LionUp Football had an SEC GM contact one of my players last night, who wasn’t in the portal, to tell him to get into the portal. Take care of your own yard! #Hypocrites#BrokenSystem
Sadly this morning not just my former player at SFA, but my friend Bill Campbell passed peacefully to heaven. I’m grateful for the night we spent laughing and reminiscing.
Bill was a 6’6 320 lb giant of a man with a bigger heart.
Rest in peace my friend. You graded a Winner!!!
Coach Ferentz choked up a bit talking about his offensive line winning the the Joe Moore Award. He's proud of the way the unit stuck with it. To be honored in this way is special.
From @AaronTaylorCFB on Iowa's OL and why it won the @JoeMooreAward :
"I think the improvement year over year is remarkable, but their body of work they put on tape from Game 1 to Game 12 stood out head and shoulders above the others because of their consistency, because of their physicality, because of their technique and their willingness.
"Consistency, effort, toughness and finishing were the four that really stood out. You could kind of close your eyes in the consistency piece, pick any series from any game, and their steps are precise. It's the same guy doing the same technique, and that's how you can judge and evaluate.
"They were the most consistently technically sound unit this season. I don't want to say bar none, but the drop offs weren't as far, weren't as frequent, and getting back up on the rails happened much quicker.
"It's familiar for us, like it's a time warp, like we watch it. It's like, holy ---, that looks like we did. So there's a familiarity to it that is timeless. In our sport, this is a throwback and a portal to what football can look like when it's done well at our position."
